Overview

The Club at Chatham Hills is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Golf Operations Intern for a seasonal internship. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Golf Management, Hospitality, Business, Recreation, or related fields who want hands-on experience at a premier private club. The intern will gain exposure to all aspects of golf operations, member services, tournament administration, and daily facility management.

Experience Required

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Golf Management, Business, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field.
• Strong passion for golf and interest in private-club operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and dedicated to providing exceptional member experiences.
• Basic knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and terminology preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Operations & Member Services

• Assist with day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop and outside services.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to members and guests, ensuring a welcoming experience.
• Manage tee times, check-ins, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional golf environment.

Outside Services & Course Support

• Assist with golf cart staging, cleaning, charging, and fleet rotation.
• Manage practice facility setup and upkeep throughout the day.
• Support course readiness procedures including range ball picking and station maintenance.

Tournament & Event Support

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing member events, leagues, and tournaments.
• Utilize tournament software for pairings, scoring, and leaderboard presentation.
• Provide on-course support during events (scoring, rules assistance, player services).

Merchandising & Retail

• Assist with receiving, tagging, and merchandising retail inventory.
• Maintain professional shop appearance and contribute to sales initiatives.

Professional Development

• Shadow PGA staff in all golf operations functions.
• Participate in learning sessions on instruction, club fitting, leadership, and private-club management.
• Gain insight into behind-the-scenes daily operations of a high-end golf facility.
