Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policyShiftPrimarily Days Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation.Job SummaryHigh level and extremely knowledgeable scientist to investigate diseases of physiology and specifically aortopathies.Highly technical procedures and techniques involving molecular biology, physiology and genomics of mouse physiology, and omics data processing and analysis will be necessary to complete project aims. Translational laboratory research will be the primary responsibility. This requires experimental design, developing new projects and protocols, preparing samples and train/oversee trainees for projects with the end result being publications and grant applications.
Assistance with writing protocols, manuscripts, and grant applications, as well as review of literature to identify protocols necessary for edge of science breakthroughs will be necessary.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesSkillful presentation and speaking abilities, application and grant writing skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively delegate to and manage peers. Plan, perform, and analyze experiments.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
