Senior Data Scientist w/Top Secret Clearance

As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll design, build, and deploy machine learning solutions that directly reduce security investigation backlogs and automate mission-critical workflows. If you are an engineer who can take a model from experimentation to production, handle the messy data problems, and iterate based on real-world feedback, then this role is for you. In this job you will:

• Design, build, and deploy classification, regression, and predictive models using Python and AWS SageMaker.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines with event-driven architectures in AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions for data ingestion and transformation.
• Implement feature engineering, data cleansing, and preprocessing for large-scale datasets.
• Create analytics queries and reports using Amazon Athena and build and maintain dashboards within visualization tools, Power BI or Tableau.
• Build event-driven architectures using EventBridge and API Gateway for real-time data processing.
• Develop advanced analytics outputs that feed dynamic rule sets into other scripts, AI/ML, or custom software solutions and intelligent automation workflows.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers, business analysts, and stakeholders in an Agile framework who are genuinely invested in building things that work.
• Document models, pipelines, and processes for maintainability and knowledge transfer.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team coding standards.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deploy models to production using SageMaker endpoints, batch transform, or Lambda-based inference.
• Implement monitoring for model drift, data quality, and prediction accuracy.
• Maintain model versioning, experiment tracking, and reproducible training pipelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed AWS services using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and CloudTrail.
• Optimize solutions for performance, cost, and scalability as workloads grow 2-3x.
• Deploy models to production (SageMaker endpoints, batch transform, or Lambda inference).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in data science, AI/ML, or advanced analytics.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud services.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience building and deploying classification and regression models in production.
• Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data quality practices.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to meet Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 3 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Machine Learning Specialty, Data Analytics Specialty).
• Security+ or other DoD 8140 IAT II-compliant certifications (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP).
• Background in Agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery.

Clearance Level:

• Active Secret or Top Secret (TS Preferred)

Salary Range:

• $150,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience and achievement
