Overview
The Internship
The Georgia Section, PGA of America, and its charitable foundation, PGA REACH Georgia, are seeking one (1) motivated and creative student for a Social Media & Digital Marketing Internship during the summer of 2026. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting digital storytelling, content creation, and marketing efforts across both the Georgia PGA and PGA REACH Georgia platforms.
The intern will work directly with the Georgia PGA's Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager and assist with content creation, social media management, and digital initiatives tied to championships, junior golf events, foundation programs, community impact initiatives, and partner activations.
The following information provides an overview of the internship and key responsibilities.

The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization in the world, with over 29,000 members and associates and more than 400 staff members nationwide. As "experts in the game and business of golf," the PGA of America promotes enjoyment and participation in the game while contributing to its growth by serving millions across its 41 Sections.
The Georgia PGA is headquartered in Atlanta and serves more than 300 golf facilities and over 1,000 PGA Professionals throughout the state. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the Section, the Georgia PGA operates championships, professional development programs, and the Georgia PGA Junior Tour.
PGA REACH Georgia is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Georgia PGA. The foundation is dedicated to positively impacting lives through golf by focusing on youth development, military & veteran support, and inclusion initiatives across the state of Georgia.
Experience Required
Qualifications:
College degree (or working toward a degree) in marketing, communications, journalism, sports management, or a related field
Strong interest in social media, digital marketing, and content creation
Basic golf knowledge preferred, but not required
Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools preferred
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
Well organized, punctual, energetic, and detail oriented
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Creative mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
General computer knowledge (Google Suite)
Automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the state of Georgia
Must have existing insurance through school or parents
Essential Responsibilities
DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern will assist with digital efforts for both the Georgia PGA and PGA REACH Georgia, including:
Capturing photo and video content at championships, junior events, foundation programs, and community initiatives
Creating and scheduling social media posts and stories
Assisting with content planning and campaign execution
Writing captions, short-form copy, and press releases
Supporting storytelling efforts highlighting programs, participants, partners, and impact
Assisting with graphic creation and video editing
Helping maintain brand voice and visual consistency across platforms
Monitoring social media engagement and assisting with analytics and reporting
Supporting sponsor recognition and partner deliverables
Assisting with communications-related administrative projects as assigned
EVENT COVERAGE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
On-site content capture (photos, short videos, interviews)
Working with staff to identify compelling stories and moments
Interacting professionally with players, parents, partners, and staff
Assisting with post-event content organization and archiving
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work early mornings and occasional weekends
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Spend extended periods standing or walking
Ability to safely operate a golf cart
Ability to carry and manage basic media equipment
Comfortable speaking with individuals and small groups
TRAVEL/ IN-OFFICE
This internship includes a mix of in-office work and event travel. The intern will spend time working from the Georgia PGA office in Atlanta, assisting with content planning, scheduling, editing, and digital projects, in addition to traveling to events throughout the state of Georgia for on-site coverage. When not onsite at an event, the intern is expected to be in the office during office hours. Most weeks will be limited to 40 hours per week, with some exceeding 40 hours and overtime paid for anything over 40 hours per week.
Travel will take place at various golf facilities and program locations across Georgia. Travel schedules will be communicated in advance on an event-by-event basis.
HOUSING
The Georgia PGA does not provide housing. Assistance can be provided to help identify housing options for those unfamiliar with the Atlanta area. Interns with family or friends in the area are welcome to stay with them.
