RK&K is hiring an Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Pittsburgh, PA. As an RK&K Environmental Scientist, you will be actively involved in a diversity of wetland and forest delineation, permitting, habitat improvement, ecological restoration, and other environmental projects.  This position will required field time, office time and work from home. 

Basic Responsibilities

• Conduct wetland delineations, forest assessments and other natural resource inventories
• Provide technical support and expertise to project managers and client account managers serving our energy, municipal, and transportation client base
• Prepare documents and environmental permits
• Interact with clients and regulatory agencies
• Collaborate with other environmental professionals

Required Education, Certification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent 
• Undergraduate curriculum that emphasized ecology , botany , and other natural resources disciplines
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
• Wetland Delineation Training
• Threatened and Endangered Species surveys
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Motivated to find creative solutions to environmental problems
• Excited to work outdoors in all seasons

Preferred Certification and Experience 

• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS)
• Certified Ecologist or Certified Wildlife Biologist
• ArcGIS 
• SafeLandUSA Trained 

Other Requirements

• Valid driver license and favorable driving record
• Ability to work in the field and participate in overnight travel
