Description
The Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry (MS) will join the Biophysics team within the Biologics Discovery (BD) organization. In this role, you will serve as a scientific leader and subject matter expert in advanced structural mass spectrometry, driving strategy, innovation, and application of MS based technologies to support discovery and optimization of protein therapeutics, including multispecific antibodies and antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs).
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated scientific expertise in applying advanced mass spectrometry approaches to accelerate characterization of protein therapeutics.
Requirements
Experience in LC/MS, LC/MS/MS, intact protein MS, and peptide mapping for biologic characterization is required.
Expertise in structural mass spectrometry strategies, (i.e., HDX-MS, and/or Footprinting MS, etc.) with a demonstrated ability to apply the technique to complex biologics and discovery stage questions is required.
Experience in discovery/development of therapeutic antibodies is required.
Strong proficiency with mass spectrometry data analysis software (e.g., Protein Metrics, HD Examiner, Proteome Discoverer) and high-quality scientific reporting is required.
Ability to communicate complex data and partner effectively in highly matrixed environments is required.
Education:
PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related scientific field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 5+ years; or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of directly applicable experience in mass spectrometry-based protein characterization is required.
