Saint John’s Program for Real Change mission is to provide a safe space for women and children to heal and develop the skills necessary to transform their lives. We accomplish our mission by holding to our vision to end the generational cycle of trauma and homelessness.

We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

Position Title: Data and Compliance Specialist

Pay Range: $30-$40/ hr DOE

Classification: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, Benefits-Eligible, On-site position

Position Summary:
Saint John's is looking for a Data and Compliance Specialist who will play an integral role in the collection, management, reporting, and compliance of organizational data. This position will assess the architecture and framework of the current system(s) to determine their effectiveness as tools of support for the staff and make recommendations for changes as needed. This position will improve and enhance database(s) which will facilitate staff and Board understanding of who Saint John's serves, support tracking of services delivered, understanding the outcomes and impact these services have on clientele, and measuring the performance and efficacy of the various programs and services. This position will work with senior staff to design several key agency-wide reports that will inform program improvement, grant requirements, and applications for additional funding sources. 

Primary functions:

  • Research and implement medical records management capability through Salesforce.
  • Work with management and staff to create and implement procedures for data entry into Salesforce.
  • Configure and customize solutions in the Salesforce environment, including custom objects and fields, workflows, sandboxes, roles, permission sets, and profiles. Support Salesforce configuration changes of page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, security, and access management.
  • Assist in facilitating the NPSP release cycle, including sandbox testing and refreshes.
  • Manage data to improve Salesforce data quality, such as updating and/or implementing deduping rules and automation as needed.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the organization’s master data sources.
  • Conduct regular scheduled audits (hard files and database entry) to ensure that client records meet local and federal compliances and program standards.
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of regular file auditing procedures.
  • Provide assistance for staff and management file audits.
  • Maintain detailed records of audit procedures.
  • Facilitate the extraction and reporting of data required to demonstrate the organization’s compliance related to implementation of grants and identified outcomes.
  • Utilize data systems to assist with and provide input for the development of proposals for program funding/demonstration projects.
  • Assist with data analysis with an eye towards procedural and program improvement.

General Duties:

  • Work with members of various departments to complete data driven tasks.
  • Develop user-friendly dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continually monitor systems for data quality and integrity.
  • Use of strong communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with all levels of positions within the organization.
  • Use of organization, time management, and attention to detail skills to ensure desired results.
  • Provide continuous improvement support.
  • Respond to data inquiries from internal stakeholders.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Associate degree in data science, Business Administration or related field with 2 years of experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Salesforce required, Salesforce NPSP preferred.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator Certificate required or willing to complete within first 3 months of hire (will reimburse when passed).
  • Proven experience in data management, analysis, and reporting, preferably in a regulatory or compliance-focused role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and database management systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Bi-lingual/bi-cultural knowledge is desirable.
  • Works independently, flexibly, and as part of a team.
  • Works effectively with outside agencies in providing client services.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required.
